Welcome to the Spring 2023 Season at San Jose American Little League (SJALL). Spring season runs from March through May, with teams forming (and some starting practices) in February. The season can extend into June if a team makes TOCs, and into July (and even beyond, if they keep winning) for those players who make all-stars. Practice days and times vary and are not set until teams are formed, but typically T-ball practices once a week, with one game per week as well, while the Majors teams will typically practice 3 times per week with up to 2 games as well. A, AA, and AAA fall in between, with A being closer to T-ball, and AAA being closer to Majors.
Spring season requires players to live or attend school within the SJALL boundary. To see if SJALL is your local league, please check here. Those who register and are not within our boundary will not be able to be placed on a team. In addition to Baseball, SJALL is looking to expand into Softball this Spring. Softball programs will be open to a waitlist only to determine if we will have enough players to form a team. If not enough participants sign up to form a team, players will be referred to a different softball league or they will be able to sign up for one of the baseball programs at SJALL.
PLEASE NOTE: Since Softball is a new program for SJALL and our boundaries have not yet been updated, our registration system will say players are not within our boundary. Please continue with the registration process and as long as you answer all questions and upload all documents, you will be able to register.
San Jose American is opening registration for the following divisions for the 2023 season. The age ranges listed are guidelines and may not reflect the division your child will ultimately play:

Required Documents (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
Prior to registering your player, please have the following documents completed and ready for upload. Please confirm all required information is completed on each form. These documents are REQUIRED by Little League.
*Birth Certificate: This document will only need to be submitted once to your player’s online account.
*Proof of Residency or School Enrollment Form: For each player, you must upload either three proofs of residency OR a school enrollment form. See list of approved documents here. Please have these documents scanned and ready to upload prior to registration. These documents must be submitted to each player’s account every time your player registers for an available season. Residency documents must have be dated February 1st , 2022 or after.
*Little League Medical Release Form: Please complete all fields of this form and sign prior to uploading to your player’s account. This document must be submitted to each player’s account every time your player registers for an available season and must be dated November 1st, 2022 or later. Previous seasons' forms will not be accepted.
*If you have missing forms, your registration is not complete and players will not be placed on teams until all forms are submitted correctly.
Volunteer Requirement Check:
Each family must submit a check made out to San Jose American Little League in the amount of $350, postdated to June 1, 2023. The League will hold all checks until the family is confirmed to have fulfilled their volunteer obligation. Checks will be deposited if volunteer obligations are not completed by the end of the season and if one does not attend a scheduled shift or if you cancel your shift with less than 24 hours’ notice without finding a replacement.
Volunteer Requirement:
Each family is required to:
· Sign up for and complete a total of at least nine (9) volunteer hours during the regular season.
· Sign up for and complete ONE (1) Snack Shack shift. **Snack Shack shift hours are counted AS PART OF the nine-hour requirement.
Volunteer Requirement Exceptions:
The following Team Roles are exempt from the hourly requirements:
· All Team Mangers and Assistant Coaches (2 official Assistant Coaches per team) - No snack shack duties are required.
· Team Parent (1 per team) – Must also work at least two (2) Snack Shack shifts during the Spring season.
· Field Parent (1 per team) - Must also work at least one (1) Snack Shack shift during the Spring season and participating in at least one (1) Sunday Field Maintenance Day.
· Scorekeeper (1 per team) - Must also work at least one (1) Snack Shack shifts during the Spring season.
**Juniors, Seniors and Challenger are exempt from all volunteering.
Refund PolicyIf it is necessary to withdraw a player from the program, refunds will be provided as follows:
-Withdrawal prior to Team Formation – 100% minus $15.00 registration fee.
-Withdrawal after team formation will be considered by the San Jose American Little League Board of Directors on an individual basis.
Refunds will be processed within 30 days after the date in which payment has cleared. All refund requests must be made via email to [email protected]
